2026 SAMS Academic Officer

Degree: BSc Physiology
Three things that make me happy: A good coffee, sleeping in, playing volleyball or badminton with friends

What made you want to be a part of SAMS?
I joined SAMS with the intention of giving back to my peers and the wider MEDSCI community. After completing my first year of Biomed and switching to physiology, I remember feeling lost and unsure about how to progress through my degree. During that time, I sought guidance through SAMS by attending their academic events and participating in the mentorship programme. Through these opportunities, I gained clarity, confidence, and a genuine sense of belonging within the MEDSCI community. The positive impact SAMS had on my journey ultimately motivated me to join the executive team, and it continues to drive me in my current role as Academic Officer. I am committed to replicating the same guidance and support that shaped my experience, particularly for students who may feel unsure or overwhelmed.

What are your goals/aims as an executive member of SAMS?
My goal as a SAMS Academic Officer is to foster a strong, connected MEDSCI community and to be a voice that provides clarity, confidence, and direction for students, catering to their academic needs and helping them navigate the challenges of life as a University Student.
